COURSE OUTLINE
July 13 - All aboard!
What is a conductor? And what does the conductor do, exactly? Learn the basics of what makes a choir, orchestra, instruments, and more.
July 20 - What's in a name?
Who knew there were so many different types of sacred music? With over one thousand years of imagination and worship, Learn to tell the difference between a mass, motet, anthem, requiem, hymn, and chorale.
July 27 - Do you know who I AM?!
You heard the names Bach, Mozart, Brahms, and Vivaldi. But why? We will look at select works from famous composers and see why Christians and musicians across the world continue to perform and love their music.
August 4 - A Doxology
We end our journey by exploring traditional sacred music written in the last thirty years. Who is writing music today? How is it related to music from history? How is the addition of new voices and perspectives improving our musical faith tradition? Plus a live performance by a quartet from FL.Kantori.
